Marketing and Communications Intern

My role in the communications department of JEVS was working with social media, marketing emails, and articles for the website and press. It was exciting to see my ideas come to life and I receive great feedback from the team. I learned so many new skills, especially platforms like Hootsuite, Emma, and WordPress. I had an amazing experience and am so happy that my first internship was with a non-profit that has such a significant role in our community.

Women in Trades Campaign

Over the Fall 2019 semester, I was tasked with managing a Women in Trades promotional campain. I designed social media posts, created marketing emails, and interviewed and wrote about real women who attend Orleans Technical College.

Social Media

Utilizing Canva, I made social media posts for every month of the year. I came up with captions for each along with the hastag #WomenBelongInTrades I used Hootsuite to schedule them on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter until 2021.

Article

I was able to visit Orleans Tech and meet some of the women who are studying there. I interviewed them, took pictures, and saw the amazing trade projects they are working on. Later, I wrote an article published on the JEVS website and the Orleans Tech website.

Email Marketing

Using Emma email marketing, I was able to create emails tailored specifically for female leads who have shown interest in Orleans Tech. I designed the emails to be simple and eyecatching. The platform made it easy to see our analytics like open-rate and link clicks.

Southern New Hampshire
University and JEVS

SNHU and JEVS collaborated to offer an accelerated online degree program along with a personal success coach to guide students on their path. Using Hootsuite to post twice a week, I designed a social media plan to promote the program.

Apprenticeship Article

Marcus Mitchell utilized JEVS' career development programs to land a year-long apprenticeship with the IT department at JEVS Headquarters. I interviewed him about his year and his experience now as a full-time employee.

Success Stories

I designed and wrote success stories for the four winners at JEVS' yearly Strictly Business Event. Leanne, Isiah, Rebecca, and Tasheed all have amazing stories about how the programs provided by JEVS shaped or even saved their lives.

Career Development Month

JEVS' programs are heavily career development based. November is Career Development Month, which I took as an opprotunity to promote specific programs on social media. I recorded and edited videos of program participants talking about how they have benefited with the help of JEVS.
