PR Intern
My role as an intern at Ceisler Media and Issue Advocacy was to assist the team in all PR related efforts. This includes research, taking notes, media relations, social media monitoring, and more. Working in a firm gave me experience with different clients such as Comcast and Entercom. I felt comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects at a time, and learning new platforms. Not only did I hone in on my skills, but I learned a lot of new ones over the semester.
The COVID-19 impact on my internship experience
The transition to remote working was not something I was expecting to do halfway through my semester. Going from being in the office three times a week to working from my living room was not ideal. However, Ceisler made it easy for me to adapt to this way of working. I continued to work my normal hours and have a somewhat normal workload, most of which was centered around COVID-19. I communicated with everyone via email, phone, Slack, and Zoom. Although things were a little more complicated, I continued to benefit from this incredible internship.
I consider this pandemic a learning experience. This transition was the ultimate crash course in adaptability. It even motivated me to work harder to produce exeptional work in order to stand out.Â
Part of me is grateful that I had this experience as an intern - still learning how to navigate the professional world. I will be able to use what I've learned through this transition throughout the years to come.
Projects
Ceisler Media has an array of clients that enlist in their help with handling public relations and advocacy. This semester I was tasked with some major assignments that involved a lot of research, phone calls, emails, and attention to detail.
Impact and Visibility Calendar
One of the clients is a major broadcasting comapany based in Philadelphia. My task was to collect local and national events and organize them into one Excel sheet.

2020 Census Research
Throughout my semester, I gathered information about the 2020 census for a major telecommunications company. I took notes on the Census Advertising and Outreach live stream, researched other city's plans for Census Day, and sat in on a Census Bureau partner call about their changes due to COVID-19.
Ceisler Projects
Over the semester, I was tasked with posting social media content, editing the website, pulling news clips, and doing research specifically for the firm. Every month I would transfer the email newsletter from onto the blog page of the Ceisler website. I would also make graphics for blogs, update the media contact list, and update the visibility calendar.
Other Projects
Ceisler Media has a long list of clients that rely on the firm for communications help. My role as an intern was to help wherever and whenever I could. If I wasn't working on a major assignment I was tasked with collecting news articles and clops, filling in Google calendars, social media monitoring, and researching for clients.
